Splish, splash

Recently a friend in the UK asked me about swimming lessons for my girls (Hi Carol! *waves*) which was perfect timing because the girls just started a term of lessons two weeks ago. My friend was asking about water safety here in Oz and teaching children to swim. I have an opinion about this, but […]

Cross posting

I know I already posted this over at my Photography business website but I couldn’t resist putting it here too. This photo is growing on me. I think I was just too irritated with my muse after I took the photo to truly appreciate it! Sheesh but Amy annoys me, everytime I turn my camera on […]

Heaven is a beach on earth

We have just got back from 12 days at the beach. It was the most blissful, relaxed, happy, fun time we could have asked for. We stayed at our family holiday flat right in the dunes and fell asleep listening to the waves every night. You can see Mum in her red sarong on the […]

A bit of this, a bit of that

Our holiday so far, in pictures. Amy slept a few hours on the flight then went to bed at 8pm and woke a few hours later at 12.30am. She was awake all the way through until 11am that morning when we finally convinced her to have a nap. Getting her to sleep was a problem, […]

Amy – 4 years 4 months – not afraid at all

Amy has been going through an incredible stage of self-development recently. She has questions for me on everything and anything and will not let up asking until I give her an answer that satisfies her. We have talked about photosynthesis, inflated objects such as tires, coal trains and people in wheelchairs. We talk about how […]

Swimming with a view

We had a very busy weekend seeing friends and being out and about. Sunday we went to a brunch and swimming party in the morning and a backyard bbq in the afternoon and all crashed out early Sunday night. Amy suprised Ron and I by taking to the water and the blow-up water wings like […]

Swimming

We have had another very busy week and weekend. Ron and I were out for dinner on Friday night whilst Amy stayed with Grandma and Grandad and we were out again last night celebrating Rosie’s birthday. We met up again with them today for Amy and Adam’s swimming lesson. Both children are really getting the […]

Amy – 17 months

Amy is 17 months old today. According to babycenter she is becoming easier to understand now that she combines pointing with a word or two and her growing independence is asserting itself in numerous ways. This is certainly true of Amy who will climb up onto the table that the laptop is on, all the […]

Swimming and a mouth mystery

I have horrible ulcers on my tongue at the moment, not sure why. I just started taking vitamins because I have been feeling tired and run down and then POW just when the vitamins should kick in, I get a mouthful of ulcers. So I am sthpeekin ike thith and very uncomfortable. In other news […]

Hot day, cold pool

Today was a scorcher! The temperature reached 33 degrees in Sydney and the winds were blowing in excess of 70km/h which made for a very hot and dry day. Our little house gets very hot in these kinds of temperatures although the back of the house is much cooler in the afternoon which gives us […]

Sociable Amy

Amy has been very sociable since arriving in Sydney. She spent the afternoon playing in the pool at Mel and Rangi’s house with their twins, and youngest daughter and some friends. Then we went round to Stephen and Rosie’s to meet their baby Adam. Amy was quite pleased about it all!

Swimming and eating

The last photos I uploaded were of Amy growing teeth. We had two long days of unhappiness but then they both popped out completely and she has been fine since. We spent ten days at Christmas down the South Coast with my parents and sister and had such a special time. We took Amy swimming […]

Amy – 2 months old

Originally sent as an email on 12th September 2006. Amy is now two months old and rapidly developing her own personality and character! She is a happy baby, quick to smile and gurgle and very relaxed about being held by people she doesn’t know. She is sleeping well and gradually going for longer in the […]
