The Super Whites The ordinary life of a Super Mum

The Super Whites
Night coughing

Nothing much to say because I don’t really have anything nice to say. I woke up in a terrible mood yesterday and am struggling to shake it despite glorious autumn weather. A couple of things that are bugging me, without going into too much detail:

  • my obstetrician is away for a week so now I don’t want to go into labour but I do want to go into labour
  • everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is gearing up to go away for a lovely long easter weekend, we are gearing up to be stuck at home, bored, restless, irritable.
  • Amy’s slight cold and night cough ramped up to a wheezy, scary rattle last night. She would cough and fight for breath and get worked up, at one point we sat in the bathroom with the shower on hot and the door closed, the steam seemed to ease her breathing and she eventually went back to sleep however she coughed off and on all night which meant I slept fitfully.
  • When I called our LOVELY family Dr who I spent months finding and was in the surgery just up the road I discovered she has moved on. I am SICK of finding good Dr’s and then having to chase them round Sydney when they move. Registrars doing rotation is fine but perhaps a courtesy call to let your patients know you are moving? We have an appointment for Amy with a random Dr at the same practice just to check this cough isn’t turning into something nasty.
  • I am petrified of going into labour now and having Amy sick and unhappy at home.
  • I am tired. Very tired, tired of organising our lives, tired of making decisions, tired of waiting. I am horrible to be around and I know I am being horrible but I can’t seem to help it.
  • three days till due date, next Ob app in a week. Yesterdays appointment was textbook. Blood pressure perfect, baby’s heartrate, perfect, baby measuring, perfect. Baby nowhere near engaged.

I hope everyone is off to have a lovely Easter weekend. I am sure I will still be here when you get back. Apologies for sounding like a sulky child!
