The Super Whites The ordinary life of a Super Mum

The Super Whites
A day out in London

We woke up this morning to a house with no electricity, and on the coldest morning of the autumn so far! A fuse had blown in our local substation, so rather than sit around at home waiting for it to come back on, we got wrapped up and set off for a day out in London.

Amy and I caught the tube with Ron to work, said hi to some of his colleagues outside his office and then made our way to Waterloo along the river to meet Michaela and her baby Thomas for lunch. It was a lovely fresh day, warm in the sunshine but with a real bite in the breeze. Amy and I stopped to check out the sights.

The south bank was busy as its the last weekend of half term so loads of parents were out trying to keep their offspring entertained. We had a lovely lunch at Pizza Express and stopped off at the Tate Modern to watch people enjoying the latest installation in the Turbine Hall. Carsten Holler has installed a number of massive silver slides spiralling down from the levels. The queues were insane with people waiting for ages to have a turn.

Amy was angelic the whole day and I even managed to get a laugh out of her whilst waiting at Waterloo for a Morden bound Northern Line train!
